Hi! My name is Amanda Abernathy and I am the Business Operations Manager at Color My World. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and have been leading the center since 2015, bringing experiences from previous leadership roles.

My priority is creating a place where children feel safe, loved and supported while they learn, grow and build confidence. I am passionate about supporting our amazing team of educators and ensuring Color My World continues to be a trusted partner for families in the Des Moines community.

Outside of Color My World, my husband and I live in Altoona with our two sons. We enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and cheering on our favorite sports teams together. As a mom myself, I understand how important the decision of choosing child care is, and we are honored to be part of your child's early years. Hello! My name is Bobbie Jo Gregory, and I am the Director at Color My World Childcare and Preschool. I hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education along with a specialization in Early Childhood Program Administration. I have been part of the Color My World family since 2002, beginning as an assistant teacher and growing through roles as a lead teacher and administrative leader.

I am passionate about creating a positive, nurturing environment where children feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. I value building strong partnerships with families and working alongside our dedicated staff to provide children with meaningful experiences that help them grow, explore, and thrive.

Outside of Color My World, my family and I live in Melcher-Dallas. We enjoy spending time together, traveling to ATV parks, riding four-wheelers, attending car shows, and making memories at Eddyville Raceway. Hello, my name is Amanda Crise, and I am the Assistant Director at Color My World Child Care and Preschool. I help oversee daily operations and am often one of the first faces to welcome families during drop-off and pick-up. I hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have been part of the Color My World team since 2011, stepping into a leadership role in 2015.

My daughter attended Color My World from infancy through school-age, giving me a personal understanding of the care, curriculum, and meaningful relationships that make our program so special. I am passionate about supporting both families and staff to help ensure each child has a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning experience.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, caring for our dogs, and reading. I look forward to meeting your family and welcoming you to Color My World!
