Why Us
Choosing the right child care center is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your child. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children feel valued, supported, and excited to learn every day.
Monitored Entry
Access to the building is only through a key fob issued to parents only. All rooms under video surveillance
Transportation
Our location allows us to serve the Carlisle School District as a bus stop and we transport from two Des Moines Public elementaries.
Playground App
Parents will receive a code to join their child's classroom app to view pictures, receive center and classroom updates daily and message teachers directly.
Open Door Policy
Parents are welcome and encouraged to visit at any time! We value open communication and want you to feel connected to your child’s day.
Play Based Learning
Children learn through play. Our learning centers help them think, explore, create, solve problems, and grow with confidence.
Health Screenings
Dental, hearing and vision screenings completed at our center with parent permission to provide early detection.
Founded in 1998 with just three children and one staff member, Color My World Child Care & Preschool has grown to serve over 140 children (ages 6 weeks–12 years) with a dedicated team of 25+.
Located in Des Moines’ Easter Lake area, our center backs up to Easter Lake Park, offering a peaceful, nature-filled setting close to both neighborhoods and downtown.
We are an HHS-licensed center accepting Child Care Assistance and private pay families. As participants in the CACFP and United Way Cohort, we’re committed to providing nutritious meals, community partnerships, and ongoing staff development.
